What are the best teams?

The best academy is SL Benfica's, with a near-perfect score of 79 out of 80. Portuguese teams make up two out of the top three sides in this list. The Netherlands and Belgium dominate the top spots, with 7 of the top 13 sides coming from these nations.
There are some semi-professional and amateur teams that do impressively well, too. Melbourne City (NPL) are the best semi-pro team with a score of 66/80, while AKA St. Pölten have the best amateur academy, with a score of 65/80.

Methodology

This list was made using FM Genie Scout 20, and the columns Training facilities, Youth facilities, Junior coaching, and Youth Rating are all taken directly from the app. The Training description and Youth description columns reflect what is shown in the game. I have totalled the Genie Scout columns and sorted the sheet by that total.
I've included teams with a Youth decription of "Great" or higher (Youth facilities rating of 14 or higher). I've also excluded any teams from the top five divisions in Europe in an effort to keep costs down - the emphasis is on cheap, after all. Obviously "cheap" varies depending on the team you're managing, but there should be something here for everyone.
Training facilities have been included so that if you arrive a little late to the party, there is a greater chance of the newgens developing a little at the club. If you get them on day one, you can ignore this column.
Note that this list is not exhaustive. I've stuck to Genie Scout's ratings, but I know there are some teams that have "Great" or better youth facilities that I have not included. Often these are B teams, which seem to inherit their descriptions from their parent clubs. But some are like Solihull Moors, which have a Youth description of "Great" but Youth facilities value of 3, which should result in "Basic" or "Poor". Here, I've stuck to Genie Scout's values.
I am also indebted to u/Joltie for their list of youth intake dates in Football Manager 2020. These dates are listed in the right-most column. Some nations do not have an intake date, and you may not see them every produce newgens, but I've included them anyway just in case. These are marked with a dash in the intake date column.
Finally, be aware that a nation's youth rating is very important. While Pyunik sits pretty high on the list, Armenia's low youth rating means the club may never produce a quality newgen. That said, they are worth checking thanks to their top-notch facilities and very cheap asking prices.

2020.07.10 08:51 qwinofcoins Past life as a Dutch in East Indies

Hello!
To be honest, I was pretty sceptical about past life, until I had a past life regression session. The result was... interesting.
So, apparently in one life time, I was a preteen Dutch girl, probably 10-12 years old, in East Indies (now Indonesia). I woke up on this chair in this large symmetrical room at what's supposed to be my home. The room looked awfully similar to typical Dutch-styled home in Indonesia, with chandelier, high ceiling, polished wooden furnitures, stone elements, and large windows. There was a large painting to the right of the room, showing me and my parents during that lifetime.
I had long blond hair, pointy nose, and blue/green eyes, the features I shared with my mother. Judging from his uniform and emblems on the painting, my father probably was an authority figure or held an important position in the bureaucracy.
I noticed that my family had Javanese maids and servants because they all were wearing traditional Javanese attire. Then, my parents appeared from the entrance. Apparently my father needed to go again. He had said something to my mother before she called two tall men inside. I didn't remember the face, so I had no idea if they're locals or Dutch. She instructed them to guard me while having a stroll at the nearby market.
So, these two guys were behind me during my stroll. I saw local (Javanese) merchants and several Chinese merchants too with their traditional attire. Some locals were friendly, while some gave me death stare. (Well, considering I was a Dutch during the Dutch occupation era, I think it was normal because we're occupying their land)
Suddenly, a commotion broke out at the other side of the market. It was quickly followed by the merchants packing their stuffs and running around for their life. A bodyguard rushed to get me to safety, and another stay put to see what's going on.
Suddenly, the sessions's over.
To date, I didn't even know where I had lived at that life. It could be Batavia (now Jakarta), but it could be other cities in the Island of Java.
Now I'm not sure if these are connected, but it's too weird to be called 'coincidence':
- Four years after the session, I visited Jakarta History Museum (then Stadhuis) for the first time. Funny enough, despite never seeing any footage about the place, I already knew what's inside the building. for example, I knew for sure that there's a room with long table, several chairs, a bust statue, and an old sword near the balcony. And I was right!
- I went to the Netherlands for the first time two years ago. Unlike most tourists who spend their holiday in Amsterdam and other tourist hot spots, I felt this inexplicably strong urge to go to Den Haag. When I arrived in DH Centraal, it felt like I was finally coming back to the home I had left long time ago. That feeling only got stronger as I was going to Scheveningen. I traveled to other Dutch cities, but it didn't give me the same sensation.
So, what do you think?

2020.07.02 18:18 Bhskara I want to move out and my landlord is ignoring me

Hi everyone :), here's a little background of my situation: I rent an apartment in Den Haag, I have a contract for an indefinite period of time. I've been struggling with my landlord due to a situation with the terrace. The property I'm renting was advertised as a property with a private terrace but there's a weird situation going on with my neighbours that are using my terrace. I complained with my landlord, and she explained to me that she and the neighbours went to court because the neighbours claim that 50% of the terrace belongs to them. After that I demanded compensation to my landlord because I was not able to use the ´private terrace´, she refused to compensate me, and she asked me to move out in August and stop complaining about it… At first, I told her that she cannot ask me to move out because we have a contract for an indefinite period of time. Then I thought about it and I decided I want to leave, so I emailed her in mid-June saying that I would contact her before the end of June to notify her about my moving out date. She thanked my email.
On 29/6 I emailed her saying that my last day in the apartment would be the 31/7. She never got back to me, so I tried calling from my phone number several times, sending a reminder via email, I whatsapp her and no answer. I called the Juridisch Loket on 1/7, and they advised me to send the registered letter making clear that I informed her via email on June 29th, so I did this, but nobody is receiving the letter in her address. After that, I called my landlord from my work phone which is a different number and magically she answered... I told her that I wanted to move out on July 31st, and that I emailed her. She said "I will look into it".
She hasn't got back to me yet, and she is quite a bitch, so I'm worried. I'm in the process of signing a new rental contract and I want to know if my landlord could argue that I didn't inform her on time? Because the registered letter was sent on July 1st. Can the landlord keep my deposit? what could happen? The lady that I spoke to from the juridisch Loket said that with the registered letter referring to the email should be fine because we always communicated via email. But I don't feel sure about this. Do you have any experiences/advice that you could share with me?
Edit: My landlord emailed me back saying I haven't informed her with enough time, that the email sent from me the 29/6 was not enough, and she should've received the registered letter before the end of June. However, she said she will start looking for a new tenant adn asked me to host any potential candidates. I told her that I did much more than that, I called her, I sent her WhatsApp, I sent the letter, etc. Let's hope she finds a tenant by end of July so my nightmare with this lady is over.

Thank you so much for all the comments!

2019.12.13 22:20 CajunDragon Roommate culture in the Netherlands

Since space is limited there, is it very common for someone who is older to have a housemate in the Netherlands? (separate room, shared bathroom and common areas) In the US it's really frowned upon and will even hurt your chances at dating if you are over 35 and not living alone. I'm going to be moving to Den Haag for 3+ months and having a flatmate sounds good and I love to save money.. however I am older.. will this make it harder to integrate in to society at all?

2019.11.18 21:53 ringkichardthethrid [DIPLOMACY] The White Elephant and the Orange Lion

The history of relations between Siam and the Netherlands contains a long and storied past dating back all the way to 1608. With the Great War over, Siam is keen to increase its standing on the world stage, and play its part in creating a cooperative post-war environment. As such, we come to our old friends the Dutch with the following proposals:
Diplomatic cooperation
We are most grateful for the Netherlands for treating us as equal sovereign nations, evident in the lack of extraterritorial privileges sought by your gracious government. We wish to take this relationship further, through an exchange of ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary in Den Haag and Bangkok respectively, along with the establishment of a Siamese consulate in Batavia.
Economic cooperation
Agricultural commodities
The Kingdom of Siam believes, and is certain that the Netherlands also shares our view, that the post-war economic recovery will be most useful to export-oriented economies such as ourselves. Given that the climatic conditions in the Netherlands East Indies and Siam are generally similar, we would like to kindly request the assistance of the Netherlands in the creation of industries involved of the cultivation of the following crops, particularly in Southern Siam:
This assistance requested includes both physical provision of materials such as seeds and saplings, but especially of know-how, with the Netherlands also invited to establish horticulture stations to study the effects of local conditions on the yield and production of crop varities.
Additionally, given that both Southern Siam and the Netherlands East Indies produce significant quantities of natural rubber, we propose the signing of a cooperative agreement for a price-fixing cartel between us, in order for us to benefit as much as possible from the automobile revolution that is coming.
Industry
The Kingdom of Siam is particularly interested in the exploration for deposits of oil and coal, essential for powering both modern industry and a modern fleet. As such, we would like to invite and hire Royal Dutch Shell to conduct exploration and geological surveying work in Northern Siam, where reports have reached us of quantities of both being available. Additionally, we are also interested in the construction of associated refinery facilities on the coast of the Gulf of Siam, in order to supply our own national needs.
Dutch-Siamese Trade Agreement
We propose the negotiation and signing of a trade agreement between our two nations to reduce tariffs, boost exports and preferential trade and market access in key sectors, as well as promote overall economic growth, the terms for which shall be agreed upon by both parties at a later point, along with a Siamese-Dutch Chamber of Commerce.
[m] to be followed up in a later post
Cultural/Social cooperation
We propose the creation of a Siamese-Dutch Friendship Society, along with scholarship programs for Siamese students to study in the Netherlands at both the secondary and tertiary level, particularly in the fields of law, medicine, science and engineering. This is to promote cultural understanding between our two nations and bring our two nations closer on the level of our citizens. The students from Siam shall have their fees and accommodation paid for by the Siamese government for the duration of their education.

What are the best teams?

If we're going on Genie Scout ratings (more on that below), Red Bull Salzburg have a near perfect 39/40 score, alongside a "State of the Art" youth facilities description in the game. If you get in early you can snag some very cheap regens from them, but wait too long and their prices shoot up.
Some semi-pro and amateur teams score impressively high on the list. RGUOR score 34/40, Carlos Sarmiento score 33/40, while Académie JMG Mali and AKA St. Pölten NÖ (both amateur) both hit 32/40. FM favourites ASEC Mimosas also get 32/40.
Note, however, that a country's youth rating is also very important. Clubs like Marathón (Honduras) and Pyunik (Armenia) score really highly for their facilities, but as their respective nations have low youth ratings, the quality of their regens may take a hit. For that reason, lower league clubs in nations known for the quality of their youth players are a great place to start - I recommend C.A.I. de Chubut in Argentina for this. Though they only have a "good" youth facilities rating (and thus aren't in my list), they seem to consistently produce super-cheap regens in the region of £10k - £30k by virtue of their nation's high youth rating.

Methodology

Some of these teams were found on the recommendation of other FM players (ASEC Mimosas, RGUOR), some I stumbled upon myself (FC Ebedei, RTD Academy), while others were discovered using Genie Scout. Every team in this list has a "youth facilities" description of "Great" or better, although there are a few exceptions. I supplemented this list by using Genie Scout, wherein a "YF rating" of 14 or 15 corresponds to the "Great description". There are likely more teams out there that could go in this list, so let me know and I'll add them.
However, using Genie Scout led to some slightly strange occurrences. Real Garcilaso, for example, have a YF rating in Genie Scout of 14 but the team's in-game youth facilities description is "Good", whereas every other team that has that YF rating is described as "Great" or better.
At other times, teams have very low scores in Genie Scout but still have high scores in their in-game descriptions. In most cases this happens with B teams, which I assume inherit their descriptions from their parent clubs, but it's not always the case. For example, Solihull Moors have a youth facilities description of "Great", but a Genie Scout YF rating of 3/20. Someone will have to explain this discrepancy to me I'm afraid!
Some teams (Académie JMG Mali, Verdy, etc) don't have in-game descriptions of their facilities, but Genie Scout reveals them to be very high quality, so they've been included too.
I've added a column totting up the Genie Scout YF (youth facilities) and YA (youth academy) scores, in case it's of interest. I've also added the rough date when each team spawns its first batch of regens in the first season; the exact date changes every season. The first season timing may vary slightly for you. If this column has a dash it's because I've never been able to get this club to spawn regens at all. Also, Japanese teams seem to have random dates, possibly because the league is unplayable.
Finally, the definition of "cheap" is obviously flexible, but I've tried to include as many teams as I can. I've ignored some leagues entirely (the Big Five), while elsewhere only certain teams had to be excluded (e.g. Porto, Sporting and Benfica in Portugal always demand ridiculous fees, but other Portuguese teams are way cheaper. Obviously, amateur and semi-pro teams will usually give you the cheapest players.
